I Changed The Us Mobile Number Or Email Address That I Enrolled With Zelle Will My Zelle Qr Code Still Work
No, each Zelle® QR Code is specific to an individual U.S. mobile number or email address. If you change your U.S. mobile number or email address, the Zelle® QR Code will change. You must share your new Zelle® QR Code to receive money. Money sent to a Zelle® QR Code that is not associated with an enrolled U.S. mobile number or email address will not be delivered unless you re-enroll the U.S. mobile number or email address associated with the Zelle® QR Code.
If you do not re-enroll the U.S. mobile number or email address previously associated with that Zelle® QR Code, the payment will expire after 14 days.
If you no longer have access to the mobile number or email address, the sender should cancel the payment and send money using the new Zelle® QR Code.
What If I Accidentally Send Money To The Wrong Person
Sending funds with Zelle® is similar to using cash. You dont have protections if you send money to the wrong person, and you may not be able to get your money back. If you sent money to the wrong person, we recommend contacting the recipient and requesting the money be returned. For information on how you may be able to cancel a payment, please see Section 8, Can I cancel a payment?

At last Thursday’s Annual Oversight of the Nation’s Largest Banks hearing, Zelle scams took center stage early as Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown accused the CEOs of the seven biggest US banks of not doing enough to protect customers against fraud.
“All of your banks have promoted Zelle, the payment app that most of you own. You pushed this on customers — but you haven’t taken responsibility for the fraud that it’s perpetuated,” Brown said in his opening statement.
The banking payment service Zelle acts as a quick and easy way to send money or pay for purchases, but its transactions are instantaneous and irreversible. And because Zelle scams require authorization from a bank account holder, some victims of fraud have had trouble getting their money back from banks.
Read on to learn how the peer-to-peer payment system Zelle works, how thieves use it to scam consumers, how to protect yourself from Zelle scams and what to do if you fall prey to Zelle fraud.

What Should Zelle Be Used For
Zelle is a great way to send money to family, friends, and people that you are familiar with such as your personal trainer, babysitter or a neighbor.

Can I Split The Cost Of An Expense With Multiple People
You can split the cost of an expense, like gas for a roadtrip, with mutiple people. When on the Zelle tab of the Bank With United app, select the “Split” option2. Choose the recipients that you want to split a payment between and enter the amount. Keep in mind that Zelle will factor in your portion of the payment. For example, if you paid for dinner, and now want to split the cost of the dinner with two friends, add $30 as the Split amount and the two contacts you select will both be asked to pay you $10 each. In this scenario, you will not be charged for your portion of the dinner . The cost of the dinner does not need to be split equally, you can change the amount you’re requesting from each person and the remaining portion will adjust.

Watch For ‘urgent’ Deadlines Or Requests From New Recipients
If someone says you need to act immediately to resolve a financial problem, alarm bells should start clanging. Scammers use scare tactics and a sense of urgency to make you panic and less likely to think critically. With the utility scams in the section above, users were told they only had 30 minutes to act before their power was shut off.
If you notice any suspicious behavior from someone claiming to represent your bank, a utility or another organization asking for immediate payment, hang up immediately and call the business directly.
Also be warned of requests from any banks, businesses or utilities for new Zelle payments, especially if you’ve never paid them via Zelle before. If you receive any requests to pay with Zelle, contact the organization directly through their official website or phone number to get more information.
