Do All Banks Offer Zelle

Which Banks Use Zelle

Zelle® | How it Works

Zelle is a digital payments app that operates inside the US. Its super convenient and simple to use. Also, money transfers are lightning-fast with Zelle, and there are no cash, no checks, or wire transfers needed.

All you need is an email address and a mobile number. You can access Zelle using the Zelle app and connect your debit card to it. Or, you can enroll with Zelle using your banking app and connect it to your bank account. To do that, your bank or credit union has to offer Zelle.

Using Zelle With Banks And Credit Unions

Hundreds of banks and credit unions – serving some 100 million customers – are in the Zelle network, working together to offer simple fast payments between US based accounts.

If your bank or credit union is in the Zelle network youll be able to make payments conveniently by logging in to your online banking service. That means you dont need to download any extra apps, and can make payments and manage your money all in one place.

For eligible US based customers, Zelle can be a fast way to send money to friends and family. Its handy for splitting restaurant bills, or paying a babysitter, for example, and means you dont need to worry about carrying around a lot of cash. However, its not the right service for every occasion. Dont use Zelle to pay people you dont know, for example. And you cant use Zelle to send money to people based overseas, either. In that case, youll need an alternative like the Wise multi-currency account and debit card.

Despite encryption, there are still safety concerns. One such concern is that your Zelle account may be an easy target for scammers, as there is no transaction reversal option. This is why many banks recommend you only transact with people you know and trust, making it a less attractive option for business uses.
