When you call the customer service number or visit the Web site listed on the back of the Card to activate the Card, you will select a Personal Identification Number . Your PIN is the access code to your account for all pinned point-of-sale purchases and ATM transactions. Memorize this number and do not share with anyone. It allows you to withdraw local currency with the Card through any Bank of America, Visa, Cirrus® or any other financial institutions ATM worldwide . Your sponsor determines if cash access is permitted. You can also use your PIN at certain merchants to get cash back.

How Can I Withdraw Money From My Checking Account Without A Debit Card
Getting money from your checking account when you don’t have a debit card can be easy or a little more complicated depending on your approach. The most straightforward options involve visiting a bank branch or other physical location in person.
Banks place a high value on protecting their customers, so be prepared to show a government-issued ID like a driver’s license or passport, enter a password or PIN, and possibly even share a particular phrase created for security purposes when you opened the account.
Some simple ways to withdraw money without a debit card include the following:
- Cash a check at your bank. This involves writing a check for the amount you need and visiting a bank branch to retrieve funds.
- Cash a check at a store. Some supermarkets and other types of stores will cash your check for you for a fee.
- Use a withdrawal slip at a bank branch. You can visit your bank and fill out a form with your account information and amount you want to take out and present it to a teller.
- Work with a bank teller. Let the teller know you don’t have a card, and they can walk you through the bank’s process of retrieving money from your account.
Will Canceling My Bank Of America Credit Card Affect My Credit Score
Sometimes canceling your credit card is the best decision for your financial health. But canceling a credit card with a high spending limit can hurt your credit score. Credit bureaus determine your creditworthiness by looking at many factors like payment history and the age of your credit. But they also look at how much credit is available to you compared to how much youre using known as credit utilization ratio.
The lower the ratio, the less the risk in lenders eyes. Credit bureaus like to see your credit utilization ratio at 30% or below, and closing a card with a high spending limit and a zero balance can hurt your score. For more information visit our guide on how credit utilization affects your credit score.

How To Find My Debit Card Number Online
Banks do not typically make your debit card number available online or by phone. We reached out to major U.S. banks to find out about accessing a debit card number. We spoke with bank corporate customer service representatives who told us that in order to keep your account secure, they do not offer the information needed to make a purchase your debit card number, CVV, and expiration date online or when you call customer service.
While you wont be able to get your debit card number online or over the phone, some banks offer mobile banking options. Of the banks we contacted, representatives for Bank of America told us that you can request a copy of your debit card in its mobile app. If your bank does not offer a digital copy of your card within its mobile app, you can set up your card in a digital wallet like Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Google Pay to make cardless transactions but youll need the card number to set this up.
For more information about the ways that you can access your account information, contact your banks customer service department. Below, weve listed the contact numbers for many major U.S. banks, as well as the information you will need to provide when you call.

Walk yourself into any BofA branch and request the money.

What To Expect When You Call To Cancel Your Card
Before you call, know why youre trying to cancel. Are you 100% certain you want to cancel your card? Or are you simply unhappy about some aspect of your card and want to see if you can get it changed?
Its good to know your reason for calling, because one of two things typically happen when you call to cancel your card:
- The representative cancels your card, no questions asked.
- More likely, the representative tries to convince you to keep your credit card open. They may even forward you to the banks customer retention division for more persuading.
Have a game plan
Before your call, know whether youll change your mind if the rep offers enticing perks. For example, would you be willing to stay for a lower interest rate?
On the other hand, perks may not solve the core problem behind why you wanted to cancel your card in the first place. If youre deep in debt and need to close your card to avoid spending more, consider saying no to any enticement the rep throws your way.
Above all: If youre set on canceling your card, be ready to say no several times.
