Its free to use and all you need is the persons Venmo username, phone number, or email to send money. Both parties need to be signed up with Venmo in order to use it.
Venmo also accepts prepaid debit cards , but the card needs to be in your name.

Works For Some But Not All Banking Type Transactions And Services
Ive used this card for quite some time now. I switched for a short while to another banking app, not gonna say who but they tried to rip me off for an entire paycheck and I left! Came back running to intuit! Ive had fraudulent charges here once, and intuit quickly flagged the transaction stoping further transactions and canceling card. The transactions still went through however : it took literally 12 days to get a néw card from them! Like I said some times banking feature work, other times dont! Apple isnt compatible with Turbo? Weird right? Anyway! Aside from the $4.95 monthly fee for using this service I have no issues with Intuits bank-like service. But get no illusions, IT ISNT A BANK! And like other banking apps they are simply out to make a buck off ya just like the banks and every other money service in the world. Except Chime they are free right? Lol!

Your Bank Was Suspicious Of The Transaction
Most banks reserve the right to decline any transaction they deem to be out of character with your normal spending or withdrawal habits. In most cases, this can be cleared up at the register with a quick call to the bank, but it still could cause you some embarrassment. Some banks have security features in place and can be a little too safe and block authentic transactions.
How to avoid it:
If you have plans on making a large purchase, notify your bank beforehand to get preauthorization. If your transaction has already been declined, contact your bank now to see if they can approve it. Then, you can try again.
Youve Reached Your Transaction Limit
How to avoid it:
Be familiar with the daily withdrawal limits on your accounts. If you know youll need to exceed them, inform the bank ahead of time. In most cases they will extend the daily limit. If your purchase has already been declined, try contacting your bank now to see if they can go ahead and raise the limit. Then, you can try your purchase again.

Does your debit card have a magnetic stripe or EMV chip? Debit card declined at any point of sale or ATM could be as a result of not using the payment method that the ATM or POS is asking for.
How to fix it
Before you swipe your card, always be sure that they accept the card that you are using, including American Express, VISA, and MasterCard.

A Quick Look At Turbotax
TurboTax has been around since the mid-1980s. Part of its popularity is due to the fact that its owned by Intuit. Intuit also makes a software called Quickbooks, which millions of companies use to manage their accounting. But TurboTax is also popular because it offers a user-friendly design and straightforward step-by-step guidance.
Like H& R Block, TurboTax has a free filing option that allows you to file your federal return and one state return at no cost. However, the free option only supports simple returns with form 1040. If you want to itemize your deductions with schedule A , you will need to upgrade to a paid plan. There are three paid plans that run from $60 to $120 for federal filing. State filing is always $45 per state, with paid plans. The free option includes one free state return.
|TurboTax Filing Options|
|Federal: $170.00 State: $50.00||Best for self-employed, independent contractors, freelancers, consultants and small business owners Comes with all previous features, plus access to self-employment tax experts, maximizing business deductions|
TurboTax doesnt have any physical locations like H& R Block, but it does provide access to tax experts . It will cost extra for you to get access to an expert, but there are four plans available, corresponding to the four plans listed in the table above.
How Much Does A Tax Refund Loan Cost
The biggest reason to avoid tax refund loans is that they are expensive. In some instances, they look eerily similar to payday loans small, short-term loans with high interest rates. Note that if you get a loan from a well-known tax filing service, you will likely pay less than if you go through a third-party lender.
Lenders typically charge an application fee that can be as high as $100. If they are helping you to file your taxes, you will need to pay the cost of filing . There will be another fee that depends on how you receive your loan. For example, getting your loan on a prepaid debit card could carry a fee of $30 while getting it on a check might have a $20 fee. Lenders may also charge a number of other small fees. On top of the fees, you will need to pay interest for the loan. Your interest rate will be in double digits and in some cases may be triple digits.
All told, you can expect to pay 10% or more of your refund just to get a two-week loan. Of course, you may have to pay more if your refund is delayed or if there are any other issues. Keep in mind that deadlines for tax refund loans are typically early. So child support, back taxes, student loans, and other factors could reduce the amount of money that you expect to get refunded from the IRS.

Because the current economy has made our paychecks smaller and our budget tighter, we want to get that refund check as soon as possible and companies in the tax business know what you’re thinking. Even the IRS knows how badly we want that refund check. Previously, the IRS piloted a program that gave more than 800,000 low-income Americans the opportunity to get their refund in the form of a low-cost debit card. This, according to the IRS, would save a portion of the expense that comes with cashing an IRS refund check. For those without a bank account, check cashing fees can be as much as 3% of the amount making a $3,000 refund check worth only $2,910. Although the program was open to a large number of Americans, according to the IRS, only 6,000 card were issued, leading to the cancellation of the program for the 2011 tax year.
